Spring Home Guide Coverage

tulips_houseEvery year The Washington Post covers our local real estate news with their Spring Home Guide. The Post explores topics and questions such as: how did the tough cold winter this year affect the market…; pros and cons on buying a newly constructed home vs. existing construction; and highlights on the single-family home market vs. the condo and townhouse resale market.

This week they begun their 3-week guide with an in-depth look at Washington-area real estate focusing on the steadily growing new home construction market.  In particular they highlighted the Fairfax’s Mosaic District.

Many positive statistics and comments were given, such as, the number of building permits for single-family houses issued in the area has risen steadily since 2009.  New homes sales has risen 10% from 2012 to 2013 and the increase is expected to continue with an approximate 15% increase this year.
