Reopened in November 2010 after extensive renovations, the Bush Tabernacle Skating Rink in Purcellville is once again providing indoor roller skating and roller blading for the residents of Loudoun County!  The historic Bush Tabernacle was built in the early 1900′s for annual church gatherings and over the years it evolved into a community center with indoor skating that has been enjoyed by several generations of Loudoun residents.  The building, known in recent years as Pville Skating had been closed for over a year for the renovations and is now reopened under its historic name.  The Skating Rink  is open most days from 10am-7pm for skating.  $5 admission includes inline skate or traditional skate rentals.   The Tabernacle is also home to the Teen Center on Friday nights from 7pm-9pm.  Fun Fact:  before Dulles Airport was built in the early 1960′s, Bush Tabernacle was the largest public building in Loudoun County!

Run by a board of supervisors, the historic  Bush Tabernacle is operated as a non-profit corporation which relies on sponsorships and donations to supplement the income from the skating fees.  The building is also available for rent for special occasions and it is frequently used for community events such as the annual Purcellville Heritage Antiques Show, and the Loudoun Grown Expo in February.   Located at  250 South Nursery Avenue in Purcellville, VA.  Check the website for the weekly skating and event schedule.

How funny, we’ve been planning on going for the last couple of weeks! Now I don’t have to hunt down the name and details. Thanks!

I took my family there yesterday to skate. The skates were really nice, the rink was really good, the people were wonderful, and you can’t beat the price!
