44th Annual Bluemont Fair

44th Annual Bluemont Fair

September is a great month in Loudoun with so many events each and every weekend.  The 44th Annual Bluemont Fair, sponsored by the Bluemont Citizen Organization, is scheduled to take place  September 21st and 22nd.  This year’s event has been dedicated to our nation’s veterans.  Bluemont is now home to a 37 acre retreat, Boulder Crest Retreat, with a mission “To provide a free, first-class rural retreat for America’s seriously wounded warriors and their families to reconnect, recreate, recover and reintegrate”.  The retreat opened on September 6th, with the expectation of providing services for 250-500 families each year.  Tours of the retreat will be available during the fair.  To get involved or make a tax-deductible donation, visit www.bouldercrestretreat.org.

This year’s fair is a fun time for the whole family with live music, pickle and pie contests, art show and sale, separate children’s fair and art show and 10K race to start the weekend off.  Let’s not forget the always enjoyable wine tasting available with a separate admission and cost of $5 per person.  Vendors will range from arts and crafts to food and several non-profits will be there.  Come prepared to spend the day with lots of family activities providing fun for the everyone.

The 10K race will take place at Great Country Farms and begins at 8am.  The course takes place throughout scenic Western Loudoun beginning and ending at Great Country Farms.

Don’t miss out on 44th Annual Bluemont Fair, one of Loudoun  County’s best attended events.  Visit the Bluemontfair.org for additional information including a map of the fair set-up.  Also take a quick peak at last year’s pickle and pie contest winners.

The Bluemont Citizen Organization has asked that no dogs be brought into the fair.
